Revelation's Most Urgent End-Time Message

God's love for His children is deeply embedded in His heart. God's love is part of God's very nature. He loves enough to do anything to save us.

Pompeii was a luxurious resort city, a center of commerce, sports, entertainment, concerts, and theater. It was a city of 10,000 - 12,000 people, with more than 25 street fountains, four public baths, a large theater, a gymnasium, a hotel, and a bustling marketplace. Pompeii was called a "city of grand shopping bazaar". It was a city of plenty. Goods were often offloaded from ships in Pompeii's harbor to be shipped north throughout Italy. The shipping trade was one of the reasons Pompeii was so prosperous.

Prostitution and gratifying the fleshly desires were enthusiastically supported. At least one building, the Lupanar, was dedicated to prostitution. Frescoes and mosaics found in houses and public buildings had extreme sexual content. But all this came to an end on August 24, A.D. 79, When Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the city under a heavy coat of ash and volcanic lava. When the eruption came, the sky grew dark, and scalding hot gas and ashes rained down. Then the people ran, they shrieked in terror, but for most of them, it was too late.

In the book of Revelation, there is a prophecy that points directly to our day. It's God's attempt to get our attention, to wake us up in time. It is an end-time message of hope for a generation on the knife edge of eternity. It is Jesus' final appeal to prepare us for His soon return. It is an urgent last-day message appealing to men and women everywhere to respond to His love, accept His grace, receive His forgiveness, and experience His power. It's God's own personal appeal to all humanity calling people everywhere to prepare for earth's final judgment hour.

The inhabitants of Pompeii should have known because the mountain had erupted before on A.D 62. At times the inhabitants were jolted into reality by the volcano's rumblings, but they were enjoying the good life. They were so consumed in the pleasures of the present that they filed to heed the warnings. Today, the prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes. This world is coming to an end. Christ is coming very soon. Matthew 24:14 reminds us, "this gospel of the kingdom will be preached to all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come".

Christ is inviting each one of us. He loves us very much that He never want to destroy this world soon because He is waiting today or tomorrow you will turn your heart and accept Him as your saviour and God. Would you accept that call of Christ?
